We asked some of our Urban Synergy Young Ambassadors about Leila and they said:
“Leila is a kind hearted individual who is passionate about seeing young people strive. Thanks to her setting up Urban Synergy I have benefited from mentoring and work experience placements in my industry, which otherwise would have been a struggle to find. Even all these years later, Leila still keeps in touch which is a testament to her genuine character” Maxine
“Leila is “a force of nature”. She has an innate ability to draw people towards a common goal; with the common goal of Urban Synergy being one that is truly noteworthy.
With passion, charisma and ambition, Leila has founded and brought leadership to an organisation that has positively impacted so many. Not only the young people that are the focus of attention and who go on to achieve, but also the volunteers who have found great purpose in supporting the next generation in expanding their horizons and raising their aspirations.” Matthew
We know that Leila is driving significant change by uniting Students, Schools, Parents, Role models and Companies to become one community building an equitable world for all young people, regardless of their background.
Founder & CEO of INvolve, Suki Sandhu OBE, also said, “I am excited to unveil the EMpower Top 10 UK Black Role Models, presented by Google. This list showcases ten exceptional Black Role Models in business, representing multiple industries across the UK who are going above and beyond to drive ethnic minority inclusion. We cannot ignore the call to racial injustice and must work to dismantle barriers and systems that prevent Black people in business from succeeding and this fantastic group of ten are leading the way.” You can see the full list here
