Early career inspiration for primary school students

Early career inspiration from our Role Models at Baring Primary, Lee, London
Early career inspiration is essential to raise the aspirations of young people. That’s why we deliver speed mentoring programmes to students in primary schools, before they make the next step in secondary school.

Urban Synergy hosted a successful speed mentoring session at Baring Primary School in Lee, South London on Wednesday 18th June. Eight dedicated role model volunteers engaged with 60 students aged 9-11 years, to broaden their horizons and offer early career inspiration.

Students were exposed to a wide range of industries, including business & finance, law, government, technology (with a focus on AI and data science), and communications. Urban Synergy role models from organizations such as BlackRock, Citi, Coppelia Machine Learning & Analytics, PubMatic, and M&G facilitated the session. They moved between tables, engaging students in discussions about their interests and hobbies to personalize the career exploration experience.

It was particularly interesting to see the disguises on some of the students, from an earlier face painting session!
