Urban Synergy partnered with Morningstar to deliver an exciting, high-impact innovation day with Christ The King Sixth Form designed to equip Year 12 students with hands-on experience in building AI Solutions with Microsoft Copilot Studio
Hosted at Morningstar, the session challenged students to think like innovators. Working in teams, they were tasked with designing and developing a functional, Artificial Intelligence (AI) product, guided by industry professionals.

From ideas to impact: a day of innovation
Split into groups, each team was supported by a Technology coach and a business coach. Together, they were tasked with identifying a problem and developing an AI-driven solution to address it using Copilot Studio.
Bringing AI to life through industry insight
An industry demo delivered by Morningstar, provided students with insights on how AI is used in their business and product development. This session helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry application, sparking ideas and setting the tone for the day.
Students were then introduced to Microsoft Copilot Studio and explored how to build their own AI agents to automate tasks and solve problems. Using Copilot Studio, they gained hands-on experience in creating automation tools and understanding how AI can be applied in real-world scenarios.

Building solutions
After lunch, the energy shifted into execution mode during the “Build & Prep” phase. Teams worked collaboratively to bring their ideas to life, preparing an 8-minute pitch to present their solutions.
With guidance from mentors, students worked under pressure to refine both their product and their storytelling, developing not just technical skills, but confidence in communication and presentation.

Pitching with confidence
The day culminated in the pitch — a showcase of innovation, where each team presented their ideas and demonstrated their agents live to a judging panel.
Students displayed confidence, creativity, and problem-solving ability as they presented their solutions designed to make a real difference in their communities.
