What happens when young people are given time, tools, and access to professionals who believe in their potential? Over two inspiring days with Salesforce, students took part in a Talent Accelerator designed to build confidence, sharpen employability skills, and turn ambition into action.

Urban Synergy was delighted to partner with Salesforce to deliver a two-day Talent Accelerator programme, creating a warm, engaging, and practical learning experience focused on career readiness, confidence, and connection.

Day one: Exploring careers and building confidence

"I loved the mentoring, they were teaching us how to create a strong CV, how to effectively speak during an interview and what to speak out and I like speaking to the volunteers and hearing their insight.” – Student

Day one began with a welcome, registration, and health and safety briefing, setting the tone for an inclusive and supportive environment. Students were introduced to the programme through icebreakers that encouraged participation, confidence, and connection from the outset.

The morning continued with networking and elevator pitch sessions, helping students articulate who they are, what they’re interested in, and how to communicate their strengths effectively. This was followed by valuable insights into apprenticeships and internships, offering real-world perspectives on alternative routes into careers.

Students then took part in a Salesforce company overview, learning about the organisation’s culture, values, and opportunities, before having dedicated time to ask questions and deepen conversations with professionals.

After lunch, the energy continued with speed-networking sessions with Salesforce employees, giving students direct access to role models across different teams and career stages. The afternoon focused on practical skills, including how to create impactful presentations, an office tour, and collaborative group work. Students finished the day preparing and delivering short presentations, building teamwork, communication, and confidence.

Day two: Preparing for the world of work

"An amazing event, the students were super engaged and asked great questions around apprenticeships and questions around my job as a solution engineer.” – Volunteer

Day two focused heavily on employability and interview readiness. The morning began with an introduction to job descriptions and expectations, followed by mock interview training that helped students understand how to prepare, present themselves, and respond confidently to questions.

Students then took part in a CV workshop, gaining practical tips on how to structure their CVs, highlight transferable skills, and tailor applications. After a short break, Salesforce professionals shared early careers insights, offering honest and encouraging guidance on pathways into the organisation and beyond.

In the afternoon, students participated in mock interviews with Salesforce employees, applying what they had learned in realistic interview scenarios. This was followed by structured preparation for final group presentations.

The programme concluded with student presentations, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and growing confidence.

"I found the experience extremely useful and it has helped especially when thinking of my path after I finish sixth form.” – Student

Impact

Across both days, students developed practical skills, built confidence, and gained meaningful exposure to professional environments and career pathways. The Talent Accelerator created space for curiosity, growth, and aspiration, supported by Salesforce employees who generously shared their time, insight, and encouragement.
