Confidence, clarity, and connection were at the heart of Speed Mentoring at Addey & Stanhope School, where up to 240 Year 10 and 11 students gained practical career advice and insight from real-world professionals.

"It was nice to meet people in different careers.” – Student

Urban Synergy was proud to host a Speed Mentoring session for Year 10 and 11 students (ages 14–16) at Addey & Stanhope School in New Cross, London, engaging up to 240 students in a focused morning of inspiration, guidance, and career insight.

The day began with arrival and registration coordinated with Jake, ensuring students were ready and prepared for the sessions ahead. Following registration, students moved straight into the mentoring programme across four structured periods, designed to maximise engagement and exposure to a range of industries and career pathways.

Throughout the morning, students rotated through speed mentoring conversations with professionals from diverse sectors. Each session gave students the chance to ask questions, explore different career routes, and gain a clearer understanding of the skills, experiences, and mindsets needed to succeed in the world of work.

After a short break, mentoring continued through Periods 3 and 4, maintaining momentum and allowing students to build confidence with each conversation. By the end of the sessions, students had gained not only practical advice but also increased self-belief and motivation about their next steps.

Feedback from students and staff was extremely positive. Students reported feeling more informed, motivated, and confident about their future options, while mentors valued the opportunity to support young people at such a pivotal stage of their journey.

"This was my first time for Urban Synergy speed mentoring. I felt the event was well organised and fun to do. Everyone made me feel welcome and I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the children.” – Volunteer

Urban Synergy extends sincere thanks to Jake and the Addey & Stanhope team for their support on the day, and to all the mentors who generously shared their time, experience, and insight to empower the next generation.
