The next Young City Farmers programme will be running from:

Monday 17th to Thursday 27th August 2009

The deadline for applications is Friday 12th June 2009

Applications will be short-listed and selected participants will be invited for a 1-day selection event and interview at the Royal Agricultural College.
participants’ travel expenses will be reimbursed and lunch will be provided

The Selection Event will take place on Friday 3rd July 2009.

Entry requirements

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An interest in and enthusiasm for food, farming and the countryside
  • Little or no experience of the countryside or rural occupations
  • No or few opportunities to gain experience of the countryside
  • Willingness to participate in hands-on practical rural activities
  • Drive and ambition to experience new challenges and opportunities in the rural environment
  • A desire to progress and succeed in food, farming, the countryside or land-based careers
  • Applicants must be 16 or over
