Career Insight Panel at the Rocking Ur Teens conference 2025
How do you inspire teenage boys to dream bigger, build confidence, and explore new possibilities? The answer came at this year’s Rocking Ur Teens conference. This event was designed for boys aged 13–15, this high-energy event brought together Olympians, digital creators, motivational speakers, and youth role models to empower young men at a pivotal stage in their development. Hosted at Linklaters LLP in celebration of International Men’s Day, the event offered practical guidance, inspiration, and confidence-building opportunities for the next generation.

Eighteen students from Deptford Green School stepped into the world of Rocking Ur Teens, a conference focused on motivation, ambition, and personal growth. The day combined interactive sessions, inspiring talks, and networking opportunities to help young boys gain confidence, explore career possibilities, and learn from professionals across industries.

The morning opened with a warm welcome, followed by an energising keynote from international motivational speaker Cameron Parker. Cameron’s session emphasized resilience, mindset, and self-belief, immediately engaging students and encouraging them to challenge their limits.

Inspiration from digital creators & Olympians

A highlight of the Rocking Ur Teens conference was the session with digital creators Josha and Moyo, who shared insights into creativity, discipline, and building influence with purpose. Students gained a behind-the-scenes look at content creation and learned how dedication and focus translate into real-world success.

The excitement continued with Team GB Olympic springboard diver Anthony Harding, who recently won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Anthony shared his journey of perseverance, setbacks, and achievements, showing students that with discipline, consistent effort, and ambition, they too can reach their goals.

Motivation, mentoring & real conversations

Students also heard from Tambo Silavwe, a motivational coach known for his engaging, relatable style, and Akil Hunte, a lawyer, entrepreneur, and spoken word poet. Their talks explored identity, confidence, and the importance of using your voice.

Throughout the day, students participated in speed mentoring, networking games, and group challenges designed to develop communication skills, collaboration, and confidence. Lunch provided further opportunities for conversation with professionals, reflecting the Rocking Ur Teens commitment to practical learning and youth development.

A day that built confidence & ambition

Students engaged in meaningful conversations about careers, personal growth, and the value of mentorship. Many described the day as “motivating,” “eye-opening,” and “confidence-boosting,” demonstrating the immediate impact of connecting young men with role models who have overcome challenges to succeed.
