Inspiring future engineers at UK Power Networks Insight Day
"It was a great event! I really enjoyed the speed mentoring and the Elevator Pitch session.” – Volunteer
Students from Prendergast Ladywell School had an exciting opportunity to explore the world of energy at UK Power Networks Insight Day hosted by alumni Eniola Hassan, who began his career through Urban Synergy programs and now works at UKPN.
Eniola shared his journey from student to employee, giving students a real-life example of how work experience, ambition, and guidance can lead to amazing opportunities. His story inspired the students to see their own potential and imagine the paths their futures could take.
Mentoring sessions spark career conversations at UKPN
The UK Power Networks Insight Day also gave students the chance to connect one-on-one with UKPN staff, asking questions, exploring careers, and learning about roles they might never have considered. The genuine curiosity and excitement from the students made these conversations memorable and full of energy.
"I really enjoyed being able to talk to people who managed to get so far in life.” – Student
During the UK Power Networks Insight Day, students explored the interesting world of engineering as part of the company’s focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths). Through mentoring sessions and hands-on discussions, students gained insight into how careers in engineering and technology can shape the future.
