Leila Thomas featured in National Portrait Gallery - “I’m still in awe” said Urban Synergy’s CEO.
Leila’s portrait was recently added to the Hall of Fame: Celebrities and History Makers. Artist Giana de Dier has sought to widen the representation of contemporary changemakers from the African and Caribbean diaspora who are making a difference within their communities and contribute to life in the UK today.
This is a huge honour and it feels surreal to be part of such a historic project that shares the Urban Synergy Mentoring story. I spend my days telling young people to dream big. Moments like this are a powerful reminder of what can be possible. A massive thank you to the talented artist Giana De Dier for this priceless opportunity, and to the Chanel Culture Fund for making it all happen.
It's a privilege to be featured alongside so many inspiring people.
I hope my involvement inspires others, showcases the important contributions of people within our community and helps to leave a lasting legacy for future generations
