On 20th June 2023 we hosted a speed mentoring and mock interview event at St Ursula's Convent School, with 130 Year 10 students. The event featured dedicated volunteers from various sectors, representing companies such as Citi, Google, PwC, YouTube, Lloyds Banking Group and PlayStation London Studio.
The event was designed to provide students with the opportunity to gain valuable insights and advice from industry professionals. In the speed mentoring sessions, students had the chance to meet with multiple mentors and discuss their career goals, interests, and challenges. The mock interviews provided students with the opportunity to practise their interview skills and receive feedback from experienced professionals.
We are grateful to St Ursula's Convent School for giving us the opportunity to facilitate meaningful interactions between students and role models. The students' enthusiasm and eagerness to learn were inspiring, and they greatly benefited from the guidance of our volunteers. We are grateful for our volunteers' commitment and their willingness to share their knowledge and experience with young people. Their efforts have made a profound impact on the lives of these aspiring individuals.
Urban Synergy delivered an excellent speed mentoring and CV workshop, along with 1-on-1 interviews. It was a fantastic experience, enhancing students' communication and interpersonal skills, I would highly recommend.
