Urban Synergy presented the Summer Programme of events at St Matthew Academy, Blackheath. The event was well attended by a number of mentees, parents, teachers and mentors to hear about the events on offer. A wide range of events are available including volunteer work, first aid, cooking, sports coaching, seminars and day trips.
Urban synergy is also organising a summer event based on the Make Your Mark with a Tenner. The event loans young people £10 and challenges them to make as much profit and social impact as they can in one month. This was presented by Natasha of Ladiosa and Tevin of Gate Ventures.
We also had a presentation by Deborah and her grandmother who runs the Pineapple Luncheon Club for older Caribbean people. Deborah has been volunteering there for a number of years and talked about how useful a life experience this has been and how volunteer work can benefit a young person’s CV.
Thanks to everyone for attending and St Matthew Academy for providing the venue and refreshments.
More details will follow on the event programme.
