Year 10 students aged 14-15 years, from Prendergast Vale in Lewisham were able to practice their interview skills in a safe, realistic setting and practice structuring answers effectively to build their confidence - skills which are very relevant for many of the students having completed some work experience earlier in the year. The students also got some top tips from Speed Mentors and career exposure about skills needed in the workplace and qualifications needed for roles in various industries including finance, consulting, technology and engineering. All of this helps students to align their academic focus with future goals.
Students commented “It was interesting and I have learnt lots from it, like how to structure my answer when I do an interview.”
“I liked the feeling of having my first interview, it helped me with my confidence and the interviewers were very nice and friendly.”
