At Urban Synergy, we’re passionate about empowering futures for young people. On October 1st, we partnered with PwC to deliver a Corporate Insight Day for 60 students from Christ the King Sixth Form, St Mary’s, South London.

The day was packed with career insights, real-world advice, and inspiration from PwC professionals like Emily Fielder, Emily Webb, Simon Harris and Ian Thurlby-Campbell.

Ian shared his career journey from Lewisham to PwC as Head of Business Development and being responsible for a team of 45 people.

Empowering futures

The students gained an exciting glimpse into the world of consulting and business, participating in a project exercise and learning about cutting-edge technology like artificial intelligence.

PwC apprentices from the Urban Synergy programme shared their career journeys, and the students walked away with new ideas, newfound confidence, and practical tips for the future.

Dianne Johnson from Urban Synergy interviewed a PwC panel which consisted of some Apprentices who had recently joined the business, including one of Urban Synergy’s alumni, Jadon Black.

The panellists were:

  • Nanji Chella - Deals Associate
  • Alistair Law - Deals Senior Associate
  • Suyi Osemwegie - Management Consultant Apprentice
  • Mahthir Uddin - Management Consultant Apprentice
  • Jadon Black - Management Consultant Apprentice

The students also got to complete an interactive project exercise from the Strategy team outlining the things to consider as a consultant from the Senior Associate and Associates; Oliver McDonald, Anany Ashta, Tom Burke and Louis Lederman (who is also a qualified doctor.)

Arjun Rao and Lail Al-Khalaileh from PwC’s Manachester office gave an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and the Early Careers team shared PwC’s opportunities and tips for the students regarding applications.

Thank you to all of the volunteers at PwC.
